The National Breast Imaging Academy (NBIA) is delighted to be hosting its second Interesting Cases Symposium, taking place virtually on Friday, 15 May 2026, from 1.30pm to 4.30pm via Microsoft Teams.
Following the success of last year’s inaugural event, this second symposium builds on its original aim to provide a national platform for sharing educational, unusual and complex cases. The event will focus on imaging and image-guided intervention in breast cancer patients, while encouraging multidisciplinary discussion and learning.
The first NBIA Interesting Cases Symposium, held in November 2025, attracted strong national interest and feedback highlighted the value of learning directly from real-world examples and hearing perspectives from across the breast imaging workforce.
Attendees at this year’s symposium can look forward to an afternoon of engaging case-based learning, including:
- Interesting and challenging breast cancer imaging cases
- Image-guided intervention and patient pathway discussions
- Contributions from a multidisciplinary clinical team
- Opportunities for questions and shared learning
The event is aimed at clinicians with an interest in breast imaging, including radiology specialty trainees, breast radiology fellows, radiography learners, breast clinicians and resident doctors.
Reflecting on the aims behind the symposium, Dr Caroline Parkin, NBIA Co-founder said:
“The Interesting Cases Symposium has proved to be a useful forum for learners and early-career clinicians to present their work, share knowledge and connect with colleagues. It reflects the NBIA’s ongoing commitment to developing and supporting the breast imaging workforce, particularly those in training or at an early stage in their careers.”
