There are 6 designated training centres in England which provide specialist training for staff working in breast screening.
The training centres work closely with the screening quality assurance service and breast screening units to meet training needs of staff working in the breast screening programme.
National Breast Imaging Academy
- Mammography associate apprenticeship, in collaboration with NHS England North East & Yorkshire.
- Postgraduate Certificate in Mammography, in partnership with the University of Salford.
- In addition, the NBIA deliver a wide range of courses* for all levels of the multidisciplinary breast imaging workforce.

Nottingham International Breast Education Centre

St George’s National Breast Education Centre (StGBEC), London, is one of the leading training centres in the United Kingdom. The centre was established to offer specialised education and clinical training to all professionals with an interest in breast diagnostics and treatment.
The Education Centre provides a comprehensive range of mammography courses and multi-disciplinary study days for all health care professionals working within the breast services.

Health Sciences University
This postgraduate course is designed for healthcare professionals working within breast imaging and breast assessment services (screening, symptomatic and private services) who wish to develop advanced clinical knowledge and skills.
