The National Breast Imaging Academy (NBIA) will host its second national study day for administrative and clerical staff working within the NHS Breast Screening Programme on 22 October 2026 at the Nightingale Centre, Wythenshawe Hospital. The event follows the first national workshop, held in 2025, which brought together colleagues from breast screening services across the country to explore the wider breast screening pathway and the contribution of administrative teams to patient care.
Designed for staff at all levels working in breast screening administrative and clerical roles, the study day will provide a deeper understanding of the breast screening pathway, developments within breast services and the knowledge and skills that support effective service delivery.
The programme includes sessions on the NHS Breast Screening Programme, the role of mammography and advanced practitioners, radiology, pathology, breast disease and surgical options, oncology, high-risk services, risk prediction and risk-adapted screening. Delegates will also hear about quality assurance, improvement initiatives and communication, gaining insight into the many disciplines involved in delivering breast screening and breast care services.
