A central element of the National Breast Imaging Academy initiative is the creation of a national online learning hub developed by and for the breast imaging community. Over time this will develop into a centralised multidisciplinary forum providing education, information, support and professional development for all breast imaging staff during their training and throughout their careers.
The two main components of the learning hub will be:
- A new e-Learning for Healthcare (e-LfH) breast imaging programme which will include over 150 interactive e-learning sessions covering the theoretical aspects of the core curriculum for all breast imaging staff
- A new national case archive containing tens of thousands of validated breast imaging cases for all breast imagers to access for educational purposes. It will sit alongside the e-LfH programme and be held within the cloud, allowing learners easy access to the archive both in and out of the workplace.
This is an ambitious project, and its success will rely completely on the enthusiasm, experience and expertise of the breast imaging community. We are looking for radiographers, radiologists and breast clinicians to be involved in the development of the online learning hub. If you would be interested in contributing cases, writing or editing e-learning content, developing an overarching multidisciplinary curriculum for all breast imagers or in bringing your educational experience or IT skills to the project, then please get in touch below.
