An introductory, two-day course for nurses and allied health care professionals who work with women who have breast cancer and would like to know more about the disease, the treatment pathways and associated issues.

Day one will cover the following objectives:
– Diagnostics in the One stop service
– Breast Screening
– Risk Factors for breast cancer and breast awareness
– Understanding a Pathology Report
– Role of the Clinical Nurse Specialist, Communication (managing anxiety, support during bad news, panel discussion)

Day two will cover the following objectives:
– Treatment, Surgery and Breast Reconstruction
– Consequences of Adjuvant Therapies for Breast Cancer, living with and beyond treatment
– Living with Metastatic disease
– A personal experience: Meeting a woman who has undergone breast cancer treatment
