We wanted to update you on progress with the National Breast Imaging Academy e-LfH programme and ask for your help in seeking volunteers to develop further online resources to support training during COVID-19.
- The new e-LfH e-learning programme in breast imaging is due to be formally launched in Autumn 2020. However, as many trainees in all specialties are having their training suspended or disrupted during the COVID-19 situation, we plan to make all completed e-learning sessions freely available on the e-LfH website now to support these trainees. Approximately fifty sessions are now complete thanks to the hard work and dedication of authors and editors around the country, and we are focusing on getting the remaining sessions completed as soon as possible.
- We are also planning to develop further online resources to complement the e-learning sessions to support all radiographers, radiologists and breast clinicians in training as well as qualified staff looking for CPD resources. These will take the form of recorded lectures/tutorials, live webinars/image evaluation/case viewing sessions and some written material. Can you help with this? We are especially keen to hear from those who have a presentation/talk already prepared and a little bit of spare capacity at the moment to deliver it as a recorded or live teaching session. The Academy team can provide support for recording sessions and delivering webinars. Topics are flexible and but anything you can offer that is of interest to breast imagers will be very gratefully received.
Please do disregard this request if you are flat out at the moment, but paradoxically we are finding that many breast departments are slightly less busy than usual so we are trying to take this opportunity to support our trainees and get as much done as possible before the post-COVID backlog hits.
Please contact us on breastacademy@mft.nhs.uk if you can help.
