The National Breast Imaging Academy (NBIA) is proud to announce its first-ever Interesting Cases Symposium, taking place virtually on Friday 28th November 2025, 9.30am -12.30pm. Interest has already been strong, with over 120 clinicians from across the country registered to attend the symposium.
This event has been developed to provide a dedicated platform for sharing expertise, showcasing unusual and complex cases, and highlighting evolving techniques in breast imaging and intervention. It reflects the NBIA’s mission to develop and strengthen the breast imaging workforce for the future.
We are inviting abstracts describing cases with interesting imaging, image-guided intervention, or patient pathways. Submissions may include classic exam cases, unusual presentations, rare aetiologies, or examples of innovative practice.
As part of our commitment to nurturing the next generation of breast imaging specialists, we particularly welcome abstracts from:
- radiology specialty trainees
- breast radiology fellows
- breast credential learners
- resident doctors
- radiography learners
This is a unique opportunity to present cases to a national audience, gain feedback, and contribute to a culture of shared learning. Certificates of attendance and presentation will be awarded, and e-portfolio forms can be completed on request.
Key dates:
- Abstract submission deadline: 12 noon, Monday 29th September 2025
- Submission outcomes confirmed: 12 noon, Monday 13th October 2025
The symposium is free to attend and will be delivered virtually via Microsoft Teams.
Dr Caroline Parkin, Consultant Breast Radiologist at the Nightingale Centre and lead for the event, said:
“The launch of our first Interesting Cases Symposium marks an exciting step in the NBIA’s journey. By providing a forum for learners and early-career clinicians to present their work, share knowledge and connect with colleagues, we are not only building confidence but also investing in the future of the breast imaging workforce.”
