NBIA launches first Quality Improvement and Audit Symposium

NBIA launches first Quality Improvement and Audit Symposium

The National Breast Imaging Academy is excited to announce the launch our first-ever Quality Improvement and Audit Symposium, which took place online on Friday 16th May 2025.

The symposium was open to anyone interested in optimising breast imaging services and showcased a range of quality improvement projects and audits from across the breast imaging community. It provided an opportunity to highlight the dedication and innovation of professionals working to enhance patient care, service delivery and share best practice.

Oral presentations featured project from radiologists (specialty trainees, fellows and consultants), breast clinician learners and senior radiographers. The presentations reflected a diverse range of initiatives, all focused on improving outcomes and experiences for patients in breast care.

Dr Caroline Parkin, NBIA Consultant Breast Radiologist and lead organiser of the event said:

“This symposium is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the progress being made across the breast imaging community. By sharing the results of audits and quality improvement projects, we learn from each other’s successes and challenges and ultimately improve care for our patients.”

Following the success of this event, the NBIA is planning to hold a virtual ‘Interesting Cases Symposium.’ The provisional date for this is 28th November 2025. Further details will be made available on the NBIA website in due course.
