Planning permission has been granted for a new training facility as an extension to the existing Nightingale Centre at Wythenshawe Hospital. Once the necessary capital funds have been secured, the facility will be used by the National Breast Imaging Academy, which is hosted by MFT, to train mammographers, radiologists and other doctors, and to support the NHS Breast Screening programme and breast cancer treatment services. The next stage of the project will remain on hold while the Trust responds to the COVID-19 pandemic.
