Advanced Practitioner profile
I’ve worked as a Mammographer since 2013 and decided to train in Advanced Practice in 2016. I am currently training in intervention techniques, which will allow me to carry out image-guided core biopsies plus wire localisations and in the future I plan to complete additional advanced practice modules in film reading and ultrasound. By completing all three advanced practice training programmes, I can then progress on to become a Specialist Breast Radiographer. In addition to expanding my clinical skillset, this also allows me to develop my analytical, communication and patient care skills further. Being part of the multidisciplinary team at the Nightingale Centre is enjoyable and challenging, but most importantly it is a worthwhile job.
