Main Provider Update

Following the recent announcement from NHS England North East and Yorkshire that they are ceasing to continue with their main provider contract, we have sought a new main provider and are pleased to confirm we will be continuing to deliver the Mammography Associate Apprenticeship (Level 4) with Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust.

All apprentices who are still on programme from Cohort 7, Cohort 8, Cohort 9 and Cohort 10 will remain under NHS England North East and Yorkshire and this will have no impact on their training.

For any queries please contact nbia.apprenticeship@mft.nhs.uk

The Mammography Associate apprenticeship is a twelve-month (minimum) Level 4 training programme. Following completion, Mammography Associates will be qualified to work within the breast imaging workforce undertaking routine two-view mammography in a hospital, mobile breast screening unit or medical centre.

The End-Point Assessment (EPA) plan is designed to accompany the Apprenticeship Standard for Mammography Associate at Level 4. It provides synoptic assessment of the achievement of knowledge, skills and behaviours outlined in the standard.

We are now open to applications for the next cohort of apprentices starting in September 2025. Should you wish to enrol an apprentice onto our course please could you complete the MFTs Apprenticeship Request for Services Form (RFS) found here by Wednesday 2nd July 2025. You may wish to engage with your Trust’s apprenticeship team at this stage for assistance completing the form. Please ensure your apprentice is able to attend the sessions as documented in the key dates document below.
